ARTECONTEXTO’s objectives are: encouraging debate, helping to increase Spanish artists’ relevance internationally and creating a contact point with Latin America. We also aim to pay special attention to new media and net.art.
The deep transformations taking place in the territories of art require new forms of approach. Artistic practices are currently being contaminated by formulas coming from different fields, and they deserve a more complex analysis and demand new and diverse reading tools. We aspire to gather and reflect this complexity, and thus seek to create a space in progress, capable of fulfilling its role both as a seismograph and a detonator.
ARTECONTEXTO is a quarterly publication, with issues appearing in spring , summer, autumn and winter. Bilingual (Spanish-English), includes 156 pages in colour. International distribution at specialized bookstores.
